How to Create a Birthday Card
Let's make a happy birthday card for your friend's birthday.
Below is a handmade birthday card, envelope and a gift tag I made. These are all very easy and very cheap to make.
Happy Birthday Card Method:
I cut my card measuring 4 3/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches (12.1cm
by 24.1cm). Folded in half, it measures 4 3/4 inches square, (12.1cm square
approx.) from cream card-stock.
The squares on the card are from wrapping paper. I cut 3
squares, made a simple design on the front of the card and glued
I Outlined the squares in black to make them stand out more.
How to Make a Gift Tag
This gift tag can be used with the card above or on its own. This gift tag can be used for a Christmas birthday present or as a birthday gift tag throughout the year.
1. For this tag I used the same cream card-stock as I did for the card above. This gift tag measures 6 inches by 2 1/2 inches (15.2cm by 6.4cm approx.)
I cut 3 more squares from the same wrapping paper and glued
those to the gift tag. Then I outlined the squares and joined them together
with a thick black line.
I Punched a hole at one end with a hole puncher and threaded a gold ribbon through.
You can write your message on the back or print your message on a piece of paper, cut it out and glue it to the back of your gift tag.
