A handmade Christmas card made with snowflake stickers. Need a Christmas card? Here's how to make a personalized greeting card quick and easy. A cool Christmas card idea your friends will cherish.
It’s nice to receive a beautiful handmade Christmas card specially made for a friend.
When they open their Christmas card, their first reaction will be to put it in front of all the other cards they get, on full display, and why not.
So make that special personalized greeting card to go with that special Christmas gift basket for your family and friends.
When making a handmade Christmas card or Christmas tags, use card-stock paper
measuring 12 inches square (30.5 cm square) or a big sheet of card 28
inches square, (71cm square) it’s a bit thinner but more economical and
ideal if you are making more than one Christmas card.
As long as the
card you're using can stand up without falling down, you can use it.
The standard size for greeting cards is 4 3/4 inches square (12.1 cm
square) or 5 3/4 inches square (14.5 cm square) But this is just a guide,
you can cut any size or shapes you choose.
If you do not want to cut your own cards out but still want to do your own design on the front you can buy ready-cut cards and aperture cards (cards with small shapes cut out of the
front). Use those and create your own design.
When it comes to using colors, red,
white, green, gold and silver come to mind straight away. These are excellent colors to work with
when making Christmas card ideas and Christmas tags. When making your own Christmas cards, do not
use too many colors, try using one color with different shades or two
The less colors the better the effect you will create, I think,
when making your handmade Christmas card.
How to Make a Handmade Christmas Card
Below is a Christmas card I made for a friend. It was very easy to make and didn't require a lot of work. So, give it a go.
Making Christmas Cards: Instructions
For this Christmas greeting card I used red card-stock.
The card measures 8 inches by 9 inches ( 20.3 cm x 22.9 cm). Folded in
half it measures 4 inches by 9 inches (10.2 cm x 22.9 cm).
I cut the edges of the card with decorative scissors to make it pretty.
I bought a packet of snow flake stickers and stuck them on
the bottom of the card. Then I printed a seasonal message onto some white
paper, cut it out and glued it to the front of the card. To get the
patterned edges I used decorative scissors.
Inside the card I cut a white piece of paper 1/2 inch ( 1.3
cm) smaller than the card. I glued the middle of the card and paper and pressed them together.
You could print your greetings first then cut
it out and glue it or glue first then write your message.
How to Make a Christmas Gift Tag
I made this gift tag from left over red card-stock paper. This measures 3 1/2 inches by 3 inches (8.9 cm x 7.6 cm).
I printed a seasonal message and "To: From:" onto some white paper. It cut it 1/2 inch (1 cm) smaller than the Christmas tag.
I cut a piece of left over patterned paper that I used for the envelope, 1/4 inches (0.6 cm) bigger than the white paper.
Glue the 3 pieces together, punch a hole with a hole puncher and tie a ribbon through the hole.
How to Make an Envelope
To make this envelope I used thin red printed card-stock. I think it goes with the greeting card pretty good.
