To make a congratulations card idea, I started with the
envelope. The envelope was one of those envelopes without a card, lying
around the house. So I put it to good use.
By changing the color of the blue paper to a pink, pale green..... you can make it suitable for a male friend, female friend for a couple getting married or a baby.
Make a Congratulations Card: Method:
I measured the envelope and cut a piece of white card-stock, 1/4 inch (0.6cm) smaller (double the width of the card). When the card is folded in half it should be 1/4 inch smaller than the envelope. This will make an easy fit.
I cut some blue card-stock, 1/4 inch (0.6cm) smaller than the white card.
I printed the picture from my computer and placed the picture on the back, in the middle of the blue paper and drew around the picture.
I cut a square 1/4 inch (0.6cm) smaller than the square I drew on the blue paper. Once
that's done, I placed the blue paper on top of my picture to see how it
looked, making sure the picture is centered. Then I glued it together.
I glued the blue card to the white card making sure there is an even space all around the card.
For the four corners I used glitter photo corner stickers. I think it finishes the card off nicely
How to Make a Congratulations Gift Tag
This matching gift tag is made in much the same way as the card above. It can be used on its own or as part of the card.
I cut a piece of white and blue card-stock measuring 3 inches by 2 1/2 inches. (7.6cm by 6.4cm)
I printed the same picture as above but smaller.
I cut out a square, the same as above but using white paper and the blue card as backing for the gift tag and also to write a message on.
Make sure the picture is center. Glue everything together.
I punched a hole with a hole puncher and threaded a piece of blue ribbon through the hole.
How to Decorate a Ready-Made Envelope
You will not look at envelopes in the same way again! We all have odd
envelopes lying around the house collecting dust. This ordinary envelope
is transformed to match the card above, just by gluing a few things to the front.
This envelope has three, even smaller pictures than the gift tag, all printed off my computer. Glue them to three corners of the envelope. The other corner is were the stamp goes.
